Darkfall Online Melee is useless in PvP?

Magic does more damage than archery?? www.idarkfallgold.com Get a better bow please?? Against a guy in scale, magic can do ~40 damage front tops with everything maxed i believe. A good bow can probably reach 50-60. Plus archery is faster to shoot.

With mages having the ability to jump cast and chain nuke fireball spells that knock people 100 feet into the air, melee has become a completely useless (primary) tactic in PvP. Along with this, archery is also useless in combat because of magic’s splash damage. www.idarkfallgold.com You don’t have to aim with magic and you still hit for more damage then someone using a bow with 100 sharpshooter and mage killer purchased(big regret) and hitting someone with a tiny fucking arrow. The damage on archery and melee needs to be buffed up in order for melee and archery to be a contender with the damage output of a mage. It is absolutely absurd trying to fight in this game without having elemental magic abilities.

It really depends on who you fight. Some Mages can’t jumpshot/run properly and you can stick on them and melee them down,www.idarkfallgold.com  but there are some that will always keep you off of them and there’s virtually nothing you can do to get them into melee range unless you get really lucky or they mess up.

Also, as for a bow hitting 50-60 vs magic hitting ~40…? Magic pretty much always hits for about 40, and I can think of only very few instances where archery would hit for 50-60, and nowhere near as common as magic hitting for ~40. Most average shots won’t hit anywhere near that.

Play Darkfall with Poor Man’s guide

I hear that  we can get rich quick in the game from darkfall forums.So maybe we can get rich but not to buy darkfall gold. That guy said he has been playing Darkfall since NA release, and there have been a lot of ‘get rich quick’ or ‘get a viable pvp char quick’ type posts lately.

Most of them assume you have no job, no family, and get to play Darkfall all day everyday. For me I’d love to be able to plug into Darkfall 24/7, but I can’t. This is how I play darkfall, and it’s intended for people who aren’t too new, who aren’t too leet, and want to play Darkfall for fun. I’m going to write mainly about killing mobs, crafting, pvp. Then I’ll go over some of my skills, what I wear, and what I kill.

Killing Mobs:
*Bank your gold often, no amount of gold is too small to bank.
*Never linger in a spawn for more then three full resets. After your tenthish mob, you should really consider going to a different spawn, or banking.
*Always run screaming like a little girl when you see a red. You’re not here to PvP (we’ll get into this later), you’re here to bank gold, remember that.
*Keep your bars high, keep them level, and eat gluttonously.
*Get frustrated, and learn from your mistakes.

Crafting:
*It’s never a grind if you don’t care
*Do something else IRL
*Expect to be ganked
*Make what you need, not what you think you can sell

Solo PvP:
*Die with honor, gank mercilessly
*Don’t talk smack
*Bring less reagents and arrows
*Gear up with high rank low durability equipment
*Be sneaky
*Look for chaos chests, listen for players
*Don’t confuse bravery with stupidity

Large scale PvP:
*You’re useless when your dead
*Heal, buff, support, keep your mouth shut
*Use your mini-map and map, and stick close to your party
*Don’t be a hero
*You’re not here to bank loot

Skills (estimations):
40+ all base stats with wisdom & quickness 55+
Melee:
Specializations: Indestructible
80/25 1h-mace skill/mastry
70 rigor
70 parry

Archery:
Specialization: Aqua shot
100 archer
70ish veteran
50ish sharpshooter/spirited

Magics:
Arcane damage is my favorite because it’s the least resisted.
100 lesser (mostly use blast/eldritch sphere)
50 spell chanting (going for mana blast)
50 witchcraft (going for witches brew)
70 greater (going for missile fury)
50 Air magic (can’t use it anymore, don’t care though)

Trades:
100 tailor
75 bowyer
20 bloodcrafter
20 armorsmith
12 tamer
8 weaponsmith
3 enchanter

Equipment:
bloodcrafted chest, rest is bone, r40 1h, shield, r40 staff, r30-r40 bow
PvE: 200-300 arrows, 20 of each reagent, 60 sulfer, 50 mandrake, 15 food, 5 of each medium pot
Solo PvP: 60 arrows, 10 of each reagent, 30 resin, 30 mandrake, 10 food, 1 of each major pot
Large-scale PvP: 150 arrows, 20 of each reagent, 60 ash, 60 resin, 60 mandrake

Mobs I kill, and why I kill them:
Reagents:
Swamp hags(resin), akathars(mandrake), doom spiders(ash, sulfer), ghouls(ash), skeletons(bone)
Weapons:
Undead dwarfs(1h mace)
Enchanting mats:
Kobolds (blood, teeth), Sadayel(hearts)

For the luls:
*Sadayel cheiftans drop a sweet feather helm
*Skeleton warriors drop a sweet horned helm,
*Type /drink and drink some of your beer IRL every time you /drink
*Go shark hunting with your raft (aqua shot + fishing pole + beer = success)
*Always gank with daggers if you’re an alfar.

Would you quit darkfall online game?NO!!!!!!!

Last day,i see somebody on darkfall online forums said that there are 5 reasons to quit Darkfall.One question:do you buy darkfall gold or darkfall items?It is very helpful!!!!!

I don’t think quit darkfall online is the best way.I started that game five month ago,i love it so far.You can see what was that man said:

Ive been playing this game since NA release and have finally decided to leave the game in the near future as it is not what i want from a game and the thing i had hoped would have changed simply have not. To me and many others that share the same frustrations and disappointments with Darkfall here is a list of the top 5 reasons why i am hanging the gloves up on this game and why so many others already have or are doing the same.

1) Sandbox:
This game is not a sandbox MMO, it is a PVP MMO and everything you do in game is based on PVP, sure you can craft but only purpose is for PVP any thing such as housing items etc are Lottery typed items thus making the whole purpose of Sandbox non existent. PVP is a very important part of a sandbox MMO but should not be the only focus of one, there fore even though many call this game a true Sandbox it is 100% not so.

2) Grind
There are other games on the market that have more of a grind but they are all Asian MMO’s, the grind and cost to gain skill in Darkfall is insane and unlike anything i have experienced before, sure one can get a 1h/2h mastery in a fair amount of time, but as any vets know having one mastery is far from enough, you need to max almost everything to be effective in pvp due to stat gains and skill opening due to stat gains. Sorry Ive been playing for close to 6 months now and i do not macro i do not spend 12 hrs+ a day in game to get to a competitive pvp level. All that being said the grind is way too high considering the game is not sandbox and completely PVP based.

3) Macros/Exploits/Hacks
Speaks for itself we all know that AV did a fairly good job of banning the hackers, bravo. And they claim to be making an effort on the macroers/exploiters but this is simply not true, sure they kick or ban the ones they see in NPC cities or that have been reported but elsewhere in game 99/100 its not happening i know for fact that long time players still stand at blood walls macroing melee/magic, so i am assuming as long as its not in plain site and hidden away in a clan city its fine? Sorry i refuse to try and compete with the macroers and exploiters any more.

4) Economy/Crafting
To me this is a big part of the game, and i guess it relates back to the sandbox and grind issue, for one in game which i know AV has no control over is the economy, i do blame AV for the setup of the craft harvest system which partially is to blame for the inflation lately, example how is it that the resources used in crafting are double the cost by market value as to the finished product? Why would people even craft? other than to have the high end skill and ability to make the gear for pvp? Crafting is very poor in this game, its limited , expensive, time consuming and extremely boring not to mention extremely difficult considering certain item resource costs are very high.

5) Player Base
When i started DF i had assumed that the player base would have been similar to UO or AC, but not the case and it think most of the player types i had grown used to in those games have left or are leaving this game for similar reasons as myself. I had made the mistake of thinking a so called Sandbox MMO would attract a mature player base instead DF has attracted the entire Counter strike player base, where shit talking and disrespect is shown at every other turn, High end players who should be involved in high end pvp seem to prefer the easy road and roam the new player cities looking for an easy kill that they can camp or can run there mouths to, stating how they suck, there shit, go back to wow etc etc. Sure its a game and all types will be around but in this game it seems over 50% of the player base is based on the above. Sorry but not for me, DF has attracted the wrong people.

Maybe AV’s done is not perfect,but i think most of darkfall online players love this game and enjoy it.There is no problem retaining new players at the moment there are new players joining every day you only have to look at the public forums to see how many people are coming back. One or two people make a post that they’re leaving and suddenly the sky is falling. So do yo restart darkfall?I think it will be more funny in the future.

First time in Darkfall

Hello,here is Malemoto who from EU-1,today he tell us about his first experience in Darkfall.cheap darkfall gold is in darkfall gold.

“I go to fight some enemies to get some more gear, but alas I suffer a horrific problem: The Darkfall Spawning system. I see what looks like a monster camp, and head over to there. I see nothing at all, so I look deeper and go into the middle of the area. I proceed to get slaughtered as 4 of the mobs spawn at once after my presence gets noticed by the game.

I feel like despairing. I know I need to kill someone, and the only way to do that is with higher skills and better gear. And then it hits me: Goblins! I shall face the goblins in a secluded spot, and start rising back up from the bottom! And I already know I can kill goblins no sweat, so it should be no problem. I’ll be geared in no time.

I enter the camp, this time making sure to let them spawn first. I run in and hit one with my Jadetalons, making short work of him. I loot, and get some more equipment. Rinse and repeat a few times. I now have a set of swords, axes, shields, and some armour. Things are working out! I start fighting another, but this one brings his friends. No trouble. I manage to kill all 3 of them, although I’ve taken a lot of damage, since I haven’t bothered to rest yet. I loot one of them, loot two…and get hit in the back by an arrow. Run away to rest! After healing myself, I go to get the loot back. I snatch up another tombstones worth of loot, and get an arrow to the back. This time, I’m ready.

Fight, fight fight! I keep on fighting them, but suffer the same fate as my last skirmish. So this time, after resting, I start to pull them away as they come at me. Don’t let them bring more friends. I kill all 3 of them, and fairly far away from the spawn. I happily descend upon their corpses, ready to filch what I need. I get shot in the back with an arrow. Why?!? Why are they attacking me from so far away??? I can barely see them! Seriously! So, I proceed to maim them. They come in 2s, then 3s, then 5s. Almost dead and out of stamina, I run back, rest, and look back again. All the tombstones I had been waiting to loot, gone. That was it, this place could not be used by me. Silently, I turn away to commemorate the battles I had fought in here, and slowly walk away. I get shot in the back with an arrow.”

Darkfall NA-1 service interesting thing!!

There are six playable races in Darkfall gold, divided into 3 factions.Unlike other MMORPGs,darkfall items racial choice does not heavily influence character choices or progression options. Each race begins play in their own homeland, and have their own unique storylines, darkfall power leveling histories, and racial alliances/enemies. It is possible to form mixed-race clans of opposing factions, however racial alignment adjustments (see ‘Alignment’) are always in effect.

The thing is, cheap darkfall gold i find a guy from “French Kiss” in the wilderness. To be specific: Styrr Chipatama. He starts running away, engages a few times in mounted but then pulls off. I finally decide to kill his mount, dismount, and kill it, and then run back for my mount since it wasn’t far and i wanted to start off mounted. He kills it before i can get back to him mounted though, so then starts the funny thing. Instead of even trying to fight, he simply decides to parry, parry, parry to death. After about 3-4 mins i take him down by hitting him in the back with virtous wrath and needles and using thunderstorm and fov on him, i also debuffed him a bit. So then, as i am ganking him, of course, 3-4 more of his friends appear in the distance, and i am umoounted, i run away a bit while i try to buff completely and then fight them. Get them all to about half but finally i die(1 of them had 100 in fire and earth minimum and another one had some other school maxed).

I’m not complaining about this. dfo gold It’s a perfect tactic to call for help, i would do the same, and even though i think it’s pretty lame, it’s legal to parry to death so help comes(i wouldn’t do it against 1 single guy though… but it’s fine).

What i complain is that right after i killed him before i saw his friends i pmed him saying: dungeon fighter gold “wouldn’t have been better to fight?” So after i die he answers: “Nah, i got no mastery”(lol, wtf do you mean?), and “and even if i had mastery, with all those authistic aoe switching, blah blah…” (that’s exactly what he said, inclluding the blah blah).

Well i kind of love when people blame their deaths to me to this, cos it’s funny but i only have 1 big aoe, and that is virtous wrath. My magic skills are 100spellchanting 100 arcane, 85 air, 35 earth, 30 fire, 6 water, 1 necro, 75 witchcraft, 85 GM. I don’t know about you but i simply don’t know what fucking aoes am i switching through??? And even more, how the fuck did he know if all he did was parry to death??? I simply had to keep firing to his back and using the 2 single taoes i have.

Skills may be learned from NPC trainers in the game, dfo power leveling however certain skills will require other skills as prerequisites. Without exception however, skills are improved (raised in power) through actual usage in game.

Darkfall online Annoying old bugs that need fixing

Hi,welcome to www.idarkfallgold.com ,today our darkfall friends meet a issue that he think it need fixing.

Cumulatively they annoy me more than larger darkfall online issues. My favorite patches are ones that fix a wave of these annoyances.

My Worst:

-Loss of gui/video/keybind/bank settings
Many players experience endless resets of their settings, some more than others. Settings need to be saved more robustly.

-The object clipping setting bug.
Whenever I start the game I have to go into options and turn object clipping on and off because it is enabled even though the box is unchecked. If I don’t do this my view distance is massively gimped.

-The party visibility bug
Whenever I join or create a party, my portrait and map icon do not appear until I take a hit. This often means stopping, dismounting and casting manamissile on my feat. Sometimes people join a party and can’t see anyone else in it and we all have to hit ourselves again.

-The bank crash bug
Only ever had this once, but other people get it a lot. They open their banks and the game crashes because there’s too much in there or something. It sucks.

-The lines between shadow detail levels that make them too ugly to use with ATi video cards.

Additions from the thread:

- The invisible objects in inventory bag bug
After a loading screen (recall, entering a dungeon, …), some of the objects contained into a bag in your inventory are invisible and cannot be used, until you place the bag in your bank or in a trade window and back in your inventory.

-Diving lung capacity bar always showing up when entering the game.
Hard to remove. Multiply recalls fix it.

-Crouch and movement getting stuck

whenever you crouch near another player or object, your character gets stuck in crouch.
-The resting bug
Maybe in 40% of tries to rest, resting is started and stopped immediately and in 70% I don’t sit but fly in the air.

-Sticky Motion Input
Dunno if its just me, but sometimes my toon keeps running forward left right or backwards without any auto-run until I tap the direction key again.

-House saying you owe zero gold, then 10-12 hours later saying you only have 10 hours left on the house and owe 2k.

-Losing Annotations
Every so often you lose all the annotations you made in an attempt to tag your map.

-Different people in same proximity see different weather affects

-Lost connection from Server (2)
Many users experience this error frequently and feel they have exhausted all possible causes at their end.

-Chronic hair loss after being decapitated

-Machinegun footsteps.
If I sprint I hear footsteps that are like 10 times more rapid than they should be.

-All active quest text printed on screen on every login

-Blue progress bar appears on the screen when vitality achievement is used

-You kill someone red and when he is lying on gound his name is blue

-Whirlwind stuck bug
Happens for some players randomly with whirlwind, so that you are stuck and have to move a tick backwards to be free again.

-Magic shield buff appears to do nothing

-Burden spell appears to do nothing

-Blocking ineffective against missiles when moving forwards
If you are blocking and moving forward, then you take ALL the damage from any of the magic missiles

-Shadows travel through walls
-Lightening cannon crosshairs
Player city lightning cannons shoot 10 meters to the left of the crosshairs; impossible to aim.
-USB Keyboard bug
Bug with some USB keyboards which requires you to unplug the keyboard while darkfall is loading. If you don’t do this you get 10+ second gui toggle lag.

Av will see it,and we hope darkfall online will be better!

Because there is no official Darkfall 2nd free expansion information page yet, I took the liberty of compiling the known revealed items coming in the expansion. Hopefully the community managers will see this and give us more details on the items which are severely lacking information!

TWO WEEKS on Darkfall EU Service

Darkfall gold Guys, wanted to explain the situation happened yesterday, regarding the Clans Night Watch and TWO WEEKS on EU. I was one of the main participants in that “event”.

TWO WEEKS claimed that Night Watch recruit looted their corpses, and did not give back the loot.

Some PKs attacked the city.
I was there, and was one of the first who died. When I came for my loot, I took it and noone was around, not enemies nor friends. So, I started recalling to the city. I saw our newb, I told him if he loots something from the grave which is not his own, he should give it back, and he did that. He was afk for 5 minutes, than he gave it back. TWO WEEKS claimed that not all the loot was given back.
I also did not find all the stuff on my corpse, so I can suggest that not all the PKs were killed, and one of them might have grabbed some loot, and did a “water recall” or something.

Person did give back the loot. There was one “battlebag” missing, as was claimed by TWO WEEKS.
I offered reimbursement for that, and tried to calm down people there using Ventrillo. In a couple of minutes I was kicked of Ventrillo, than in 1 more minute I and the recruit were killed instantly by everyone near the bank. After that, they kicked us out of the alliance, and kicked out of their city. Then, they killed 2 other guys from our clan who remained in the city.

The city is in Yssam, Mehatil.

Just don’t understand the people who do such a thing, especially when someone is willing to correct the problem right away. I am also quite a newb in PvP, and do not have too much money, but I was willing to correct the situation, and was killed instead, with the best gear I can offer for now. Also, was really amused by someone from TWO weeks imitating russian accent in Ventrillo saying that “these f..ing russians can not be trusted, and they don’t speak English”.

The State of Darkfall

I agree that an MMORPG should be about character development. But in DF everyone has to max out everything, we’re all gonna be the same in the end neway, how is that developing ur own character?

I want to know what everyone else thinks. This is an intense debate on the state of Darkfall. Its a difference in philosophy. Is Darkfall a game with one build that everyone has to follow, or is it an RPG without class restrictions? What do you consider the differences to be between those two assumptions? Are they they same thing or different?

I think understanding this question will help a lot of people get on the same page so we can start moving in one clear direction.

We know that everyone wants the freedom that a classless game brings, however by that same description no one wants to be in a game where there is only one class and everything must be maxed in order to compete. What is the state of our belief?

If any logic majors care to clarify my arguments, go for it. I haven’t been in a logic class for 10 years.I hope not, but I expect these specializations are going to turn out to be nothing but smoke and mirrors.

Travel in DF is screwed up?

My friend felt travel in darkfall gold is too  easy. Darkfall has been designed from the outset as a full-loot PVP game, meaning on death players are able to fully loot other players of their gear and gold on their person.

Runestones are currently limited to the rich/powerful. The spawns that drop them are controlled by the zergs and guilds with high end characters that can lock down the spawns (e.g. deathless mages, knights, etc…) These spawns drop lots of runestones and provide easy access to … well everywhere. I use them to travel from one side of ruby to the other just because I don’t want to run and can make more money in the time I save by running then I would spend on a rune. These should be drastically reduced in drop rate and spread evenly across all mage type mobs.

Houses allow people in one zerg to put a house in the middle of another zerg and at no risk grief their holdings. This is fine since it is balanced by a 10g/hour cost of owning a house. But when combined with other travel options it is too much.

Bindstone kick… this is just broken. It allows the biggest guilds to gain holdings where ever and effectively teleport their players all over the map. Bindstone kicks should rebind to the nearest stone.

Bindstone recall is decent but really detracts from risk vs reward especially since getting out of the map to recall is easy.

For example last night I raided an enemy city during their off hours and spent 15 minutes marking 3 runes in random spots about their city so I could rune in and kill all of their macro’rs for free regs and quick pvp… I still have 30+ runes in the bank to do whatever with.

The world isn’t empty it just feels like it is because people with loot have no need to travel when they can just teleport everywhere. So the only people you come across in the world are naked travellers, pk groups that run away from anything resembling a fair fight, or a farmer at his spawn before he recalls back. Travel times between places are very short its only a 5-7 minute ride from north to south on any of the zerg islands.

The developers have opined that historically successful battle formations and tactics will be widely adopted and adapted for use in Darkfall. Likewise, area-effect spells and abilities affect enemies and allies equally, and so must be used with caution and discretion.
