    The goal of Darkfall is its support for large-scale territorial conflict between player clans (guilds). To this end, empire building through the construction and conquering of cities/forts/castles is expected to be a major part of the game. To promote such conflict, the developers have stated that there is a finite number of geographical locations (97 locations-44 Clanstones, 53 Hamlets) within the world that are able to support city building. These potential player-built city and hamlet sites are marked in-game by structures known as clanstones.

These city-building sites are spread across the entirety of the world, and vary greatly in location, surrounding terrain, access to nearby resource nodes, and consequently, their ability to be defended by the owning clan. The developers expect certain sites, such as underground cave sites hidden by a waterfall, or a precipitous mountain-side location with a precarious one-way approach to be more highly coveted than other sites, adding to the potential for territorial conflict.

Player clans have full diplomatic control over their relationship with other player clans, and can declare war on other clans unilaterally. The “At War” diplomatic state is preceded by some unspecified amount of time in the ‘Weary’ diplomatic state after which time players of clans that are at war with each other may kill each other freely without alignment penalties. The declaration of war also allows player-built cities to be freely attacked and sieged as a prelude to complete capture or destruction of the enemy city. To this end, Darkfall contains a variety of different siege weapons such as trebuchets, catapults and ballistae, all of which are player-crafted. There is a limit on the rate of destruction of a captured city of 1 building per day, however any number of buildings may be disabled at any time by bringing their structural integrity to zero.

As is typical of any fantasy MMORPG, Darkfall will feature an as of yet unknown number of dungeons and underground areas, many of which will be heavily populated by monsters and monster bosses. Some underground areas are also available for players to colonise and build cities within. Both the Alfar and Dwarven racial capital cities are located predominately underground. It should be noted that the dungeons in the world of Agon are not traditionally “instanced” like in other games. An instance is a separate game universe that a group of people are taken to when usually entering a dungeon so they can fight through the dungeon alone. In Darkfall, the dungeons are available for everyone, and are not instanced. The most notable effect of this is that players are fighting with other groups of people that are in the same dungeon in the non-instance world.

The new patch Limits the game severly for new people, and smaller to mid size guilds. expessialy those who dont wana join a big zerg guild.
It also Forces non crafters to either Craft or join a big guild that has many crafters.

The durability of most not all its like a 1/4 to 1/2 rate droped items of soloable mobs, are at a unsellable level now, so there is no effective way of making money from mobs, forcing someoen to harvest for cash, or farm for regeants, which sucks.

also the low durability makes it very hard for new people to level weapons skills as they will break so fast lol, forcing htem to join abig guild that can gear them.

really have to relie on buying from crafters now which can be a good thing yes, but the fact you can only sell half of what drops killls income and prevents non crafters from makin the money effciantly enough to buy from them. grinding for hours to make enough money to buy one set of armor and a decent weapon, to turn around get ganked and loose it in 10 minutes, yeah that sucks. ( and those with a massive stockpile in bank think of future not present of how this could hurt, and big guilders need not flame as this is focused on us small timers)

this again makes people need to join a biger guild to fend for them selves, this kills smaller guilds starting out.

the idea is good but they need to make it not such a bad hit that vendors dont buy them anymore. it also kills the fact you can sell higher rank mob drops to newer people or non crafters at a slightly higher then vendor rate

its a good idea im not hating on that its just it was poorly executed and needs to be tweaked abit either raise overall durability of weapons, or give it less of a durability hit to where you can sell more then half of the crap heh.

i know i dont craft i dont like it dont plan on doing it, its not my game style, and now i more or less have to rely on guild crafters or resorce farm for cash, which is what i hate, the sit there and wack on something for hours, no thats a boring waste of time for me, becuase i do not afk macro or hack i have morals. its a personal choice but just an example of why the patch might do more damage then good, the rest of the patch i like granted.

minus that and the hacking issue, darkfall is the best mmo ever, and deserves mad respect but you may just loose many new commers due to this, and smaller guilds are going to stuggle to the point they wont enjoy the game anymore. i know I for one have little reason to play now untill this is addressed becuase i dont want to grind resorces, and the crafters in guild are busy gearing everyone out, i liked soloing shit. and pvping for gear is hard as a legit player becuase people are still hacking like crazy 100 run dose not permit sprint like speeds backwards or while side strafing im sorry, the lil 5-10% speed helps a ton in stamina saving and the ultimate win of a 1v1 fight. those of you who do it have no honor.
